ASSIGNMENT 8- PHOTO ESSAY

HOME ON THE RANGE- OKLAHOMA EDITION

This series of photos illustrate the wide open spaces in Oklahoma and Texas. It begins with a dramatic photo of the demolition of a once popular shopping center that in the recent past has been abandoned, neglected, and damaged by fire. Following that photo is an image of the local fire station in Lawton whose responsibility it was to put out the fire. The end of the photo essay consists of pictures of the Indian Casino located in the middle of an open field in Randalett. The town of Randlett, Texas has a total 37 residents! The full parking lot at the Casino is strikingly out of place in the empty uninhabited fields that surround it.

ASSIGNMENT 5 "ONE SHOT"

I used a door from Caldwell Hall to illustrate balance and during this Lenten season the stone columns and the deep brown of the door countered by the bright blue reflecting from the windows gives this photo a calm and religious feel.
